[Luca's pretty excited about this, all things considered... ♥ And yes, that's a piece of mistletoe floating above her head!]

[well it's the holiday season in some places, and some people like getting excited about that. Dave's not that kind of person, though. He's maybe a little puzzled by the way the mistletoe's floating, but he just quirks his eyebrows for a moment.]

Hey. Got something following you. [he gestures up at it]

[She actually has no idea what the holiday season is, but a lot of people are really happy right now, and that sort of thing is contagious (at least for her). The air just feels... lighter. So, she's smiling!

She nods to Dave, then grins up at the floating little plant.]

Oh right! This! I saw it earlier... I have no idea what it is, but it's there...

[well, maybe it is, who knows, considering wind magic and all that (and the kind of people who'd have it being likely to want to spread cheer and all).]

You don't? [He peers up at it- yeah that's definitely mistletoe.] So, what, you not interested in plants, or…?

[melenas]

I am! But I've never seen a plant like it before. Especially not one that floats like that... [She looks up at it again; reaches up to gently touch one of the leaves.] It's not hurting anything, though.

[She turns her smile back to Dave.]

I'm Luca, by the way. Luca Trulyworth. What's your name?

Pretty sure it doesn't usually. [and he's gonna come over and try to figure out exactly how it's doing that, is it strings or magic or what] Nah, it's not bad, just odd.

[smiling back is against the coolkid code, but she gets a nod.] Dave Strider. You been in these parts long, Luca?

Oh? Do you know what kind of plant it is, then?

[she shakes her head.] I haven't... What about you?

Sure. It's a pretty common tradition to have some mistletoe around back home. [well not everyone gets greeted with a mix of smuppets and mistletoe falling on them when they open their door on the first of December but hey. Traditions.] Usually it's in a doorway or something, though.

Nah, first time at this gig. Doesn't seem that bad. [no one's playing muszak, for one]

A tradition of putting plants in doorways? [She giggles a bit, amused.] That seems silly! What's the story behind it?

[Buuuut then the ~holiday spirit~ or what have you takes over, and he's close enough to her that she can lean in for a quick little kiss!]

Little loose on the details, but some ass-long time ago some old dude decided-

[he's just starting to get into the groove when she leans in, and that pretty effectively short-circuits him. He stares at her, eyes wide behind his sunglasses, mouth open a little before he remembers himself and shuts it hastily.]

-uh. Yeah. They thought that was pretty rad.

[Hi, Luca's cheeks are about seventy shades of pink and red, and her eyes are wide as saucers okay.]

Oh my gosh! [She covers her mouth with both hands.] I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!

[yeah that's totally explicable he's pretty red himself. Matches his shirt.]

Nah, totally understandable, the swag just got to be too much to handle. Happens all the time. [that said, he's squinting at the mistletoe suspiciously] Maybe it's magic.
